Kington Langley Parish Council Website

The Kington Langley Parish Council commissioned me to redesign their website in August 2024. The new site makes use of a simple and elegant design, that allows villagers to swiftly find the information they are looking for. The website makes use of extensive custom software to make managing the site easy, whilst maintaining a consistent and high-quality design.

The Parish Council Website now serves as a digital community hub, providing villagers with access to all the latest news and events, through a Digital Calendar and a Village Organisation directory.

Solutions: Website, Custom

Putting the User first.

At every decision, we put the user first to make sure the website was easy to navigate.

The site’s simple and consistent structure allows villagers to enjoy a seamless browsing experience.

The Website was also tested against, and developed in accordance with WCAG 2.2, the globally recognised accessibility standard.

We also included BC Website Design’s custom search engine within the site, allowing users to quickly find the resources they need.

We built a bespoke application to allow the Parish Council to manage Meetings & Documents.

The new Meetings & Documents software allows the Parish Council to create meetings and easily manage the Agenda and Minutes for each meeting. This is then converted into an elegant front-end widget that allows visitors to view past & future meetings and download the documents they need.

Introducing Meetings & Documents.

Creating a Digital Community.

We took the Village Diary to the next level, creating a Community Digital Hub.

Villagers browse all upcoming village events in an interactive Calendar. This is managed through our software “BC Calendar” and shows locations, times and organiser information for everything that happens in Kington Langley.

The new website now features a Village Organisation Directory, creating a single place for villagers to find information about local businesses & societies as well as contact details for each.
